The stories are everywhere: the increase in weight in adults has reached our children. Overweight and obesity are readily spoken about in the doctors’ offices and in the news. But we are approaching it all wrong: we are instilling a worry about weight in our families.
Worry doesn’t work.
It makes us focus on our children’s food, weight, portion sizes and “weight management.”
That is not what kids need. And we don’t need the burden of more ways to feel that we are failing our kids.
Our kids need an environment where they are not judged by their weight, and not put on diets masked as weight management. Family in Focus is the only program that specializes in helping parents who are worried about their family’s weight create the calm, confidence and a plan for the whole family to create healthier relationships with food, body and each other.
