I see way too many Facebook posts from women that sound like this: “It’s over. I love him so much, but I just can’t do this anymore. Blending families is too hard.”
I totally understand.
When I got married the first time, I thought my marriage was going to last forever.
Never in a million years did I think I would end up divorced.
The second time I was less confident…but still planning on forever.
Until the reality of blending families slapped me in the face.
I still wanted forever, I just didn’t know how to get it.
It seemed impossible given everything we were dealing with.
Fortunately, this story has a happy ending.
My blended family is much the same.
Everyone is still doing it wrong.
But I feel safe, secure, and confident in myself and my future.
I am creating my happily ever after as we speak.
